You don't have to leave Dessau in order to hear excellent young musicians perform on stage with great verve and commitment. Following their fantastic concert at the „Berlin im Licht“ Festival in 2011, the Anhalt Youth Big Band is returning to provide yet another highlight. In their new programme entitled „Galante's Paris“, developed by long-term director of the band, Detlef Metzner, together with Pascal von Wroblewsky, audiences will note the sly reference to Kurt Weill's „Marie Galante“, one of the main works of the 2012 Festival. And the two musicians also scored a real coup by managing to persuade one of Germany's leading jazz singers, Julia Hülsmann, to newly arrange ten titles for this programme with the assistance of their young students.
