Religion and music are so closely intertwined in Judaism that readings and prayers are almost always sung rather than spoken. From its roots in Gregorian chant, the music of the Christian church blossomed over the years into highly virtuosic forms.
This concert shows how Jewish and Christian composers have set Biblical psalms to music and how each cultural age finds its own spiritual approach to religious texts.
