Kurt Weill & Lotte Lenya
A school project of the Kurt Weill Centre
Vocals: Anna Haentjens
Pupils of the Philanthropinum School
The aim of the Kurt Weill Centre, a foundation established in the summer of 2017, is to promote the work of Kurt Weill, primarily through educational programmes for children and young adults. This concert, organized in cooperation with the Philanthropinum school, takes the form of a musical-literary evening on the Dessau composer presented by older pupils.
Under the direction of singer Anna Haentjens, the kids will chronicle the eventful life of the composer and his circle through songs and texts. The programme focuses on the themes of escape, expulsion, ostracism, the meaning of home as well as life in exile.
